Tech Society along Canal Road has mature trees and lawns, and the canal keeps groundwater relatively high. Moist soil helps termite colonies grow, so we treat around tree beds and garden walls as well as the house itself.
We drill along the wall line, inject Termisol 25 EC and seal each hole, so the soil forms a continuous barrier. Not sure if you have termites? Our guide to signs of termite infestation explains what to look for.
A line of holes one foot inside every wall, three feet apart, each injected with 8–10 litres. Together they form an unbroken treated layer of soil. All holes are sealed neatly before we leave.
Built-in wardrobes are dark, undisturbed and touch the wall, which is exactly where termites travel. Our second stage treats frames and wardrobe backs directly.
It is mixed at a ratio that is suitable for wood. Any timber already hollowed by termites will need replacing.
Usually because the barrier was disturbed: a long-term water leak washed it out, floors were broken during renovation, or cracks let it break down. That is why post-construction work has a 5-year warranty and an undisturbed pre-construction barrier has 10.
Keep children and pets away during work, close the house for 3–4 hours after spraying, then clean. Fipronil is well documented and the safety sheet is available.
