Short answer: To get rid of cockroaches, cut off their food and water first, then treat the cracks where they hide during the day: cabinet hinges, sink cupboards, drains and the space behind the fridge and stove. Roach Out (Rs 1,500) is a 100 ml liquid spray concentrate that you mix in 8 litres of water. Empty the cabinets, spray every corner and crack at night and repeat after two weeks.

Why Cockroaches Take Over Kitchens
The small brown German cockroach is the one most families find in kitchens and bathrooms. It needs only three things: warmth, moisture and crumbs. A kitchen with a dripping tap, a gas line gap in the wall and an overnight dish rack gives it all three.
They hide in tight cracks during the day and come out after the lights go off, which is why many people only realise how large the problem is when they walk into the kitchen at midnight. Egg capsules carry dozens of young each, so a few survivors can rebuild a population within weeks.
The bigger, reddish American cockroach usually enters from drains, gutters and sewer lines. It needs drain covers and outdoor treatment as well as indoor work.
Health Reasons to Get Rid of Cockroaches Quickly
- Cockroaches walk through drains and waste, then over plates, cutting boards and stored food.
- Their droppings and shed skins are known allergens and can worsen asthma, especially in children.
- They foul packaged food, flour and spices, which often has to be thrown away.
- In restaurants, bakeries and food units, a single sighting by a customer or inspector can damage a business.

6 Steps to Get Rid of Cockroaches With Roach Out
Step 1: Clean before you treat
You cannot get rid of cockroaches while they still have an easy meal. Wipe grease off the stove surround, cabinet doors and the top of the fridge. Clear old newspapers, cardboard boxes and empty bags from under the sink. Fix leaking taps and dry the sink cupboard. Cockroaches that have nothing else to eat are far more likely to contact the treated surfaces.
Step 2: Empty the kitchen cabinets
To get rid of cockroaches properly, the spray has to reach inside the cupboards. Empty the kitchen cabinets completely: take out food, plates, cutlery, pots and the water filter, and put them in sealed containers or another room. Cover the water tank opening and any open drinking water.
Step 3: Mix the concentrate

Mix the full 100 ml pack in 8 litres of clean water and stir well. Use a clean hand sprayer reserved for pest control only and mix just the amount you will use that night.
Step 4: Spray the hiding places at night
To get rid of cockroaches faster, spray when they are most active. Late evening works well because cockroaches are about to come out. Spray thoroughly into every corner and crack: the empty cabinets, cabinet edges and hinges, inside the sink cupboard, around pipe entry points, behind and under the fridge, stove and washing machine, around floor drains and along skirting lines. Spray cracks, not open counters. This targeted approach is the quickest way to get rid of cockroaches without spreading chemical where you cook.
Step 5: Leave the area and ventilate
Close the kitchen for a few hours while the spray dries, keeping children and pets out. Then open windows, run the exhaust fan and wipe any counter that may have caught drift before you cook.
Step 6: Repeat after two weeks
One round is rarely enough to get rid of cockroaches completely. Egg capsules are protected, so young cockroaches can appear one to two weeks after the first round. A second treatment on the same spots after about 14 days clears this new group. Check with a torch at night to see whether activity is falling.
Where to Spray to Get Rid of Cockroaches
| Spray here | Keep spray away from |
|---|---|
| Cabinet hinges and inside corners | Open food, spices and flour |
| Sink cupboard and pipe gaps | Plates, cutlery and cutting boards |
| Behind fridge, stove and oven | Water filters and drinking water |
| Floor drains and bathroom traps | Baby bottles and toys |
| Skirting lines and wall cracks | Fish tanks, birds and pet bowls |
Precautions When Spraying
- Read the label before every use and keep Roach Out in its original bottle.
- Wear gloves and a mask while mixing and spraying, and wash hands and face afterwards.
- Keep children, pets and birds away until treated surfaces are dry and the room has aired.
- Never spray directly on food, dishes, cooking surfaces or the inside of the fridge.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling the concentrate.
- If it touches skin or eyes, rinse with plenty of clean water; seek medical advice if irritation continues or if it is swallowed, and show the bottle to the doctor.
- Store the bottle upright, sealed and out of children’s reach, away from food and medicine.
Kitchen Habits That Help You Get Rid of Cockroaches for Good
- Do not leave dishes in the sink or open garbage overnight.
- Store flour, rice, sugar and pet food in sealed containers.
- Seal gaps around gas pipes, water lines and electrical conduits with filler.
- Fit mesh covers on floor drains and keep bathroom traps filled with water.
- Keep the kitchen floor dry at night; a dry kitchen helps you get rid of cockroaches and keeps them from settling again.
- Check grocery cartons and vegetable crates before storing them; many infestations start there.
When You Cannot Get Rid of Cockroaches on Your Own
Sometimes a single kitchen cannot get rid of cockroaches alone. Restaurants, hostels, apartment blocks and food factories often have cockroaches moving between units through shared drains and walls. In those cases one kitchen cannot solve it alone. A professional inspection maps entry routes and treats the whole building, often as part of an integrated programme.
See our integrated pest management services and read our guide to cockroach control in Lahore. The professional inspection visit costs Rs 2,000, refunded or adjusted if you book the treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly does Roach Out work?
Cockroaches that contact a treated surface usually die within 24 to 48 hours. Hidden eggs hatch later, so plan a second round after about two weeks to get rid of cockroaches fully.
How much spray does one bottle of Roach Out make?
One 100 ml pack is mixed in 8 litres of water, enough for several kitchen and bathroom treatments in a typical home.
Can Roach Out be used in the kitchen?
Yes. It is odourless, no side effects when used as directed. Empty the cabinets first, spray thoroughly into every corner and crack, keep children and pets away until it dries, and wipe counters before cooking.
Does Roach Out leave a smell?
No. Roach Out is odourless, which is why it is used in kitchens, food stores and hospitals.
Why do I still see cockroaches a few days after spraying?
Cockroaches are driven out of hiding as they are affected, and young ones hatch from protected egg cases. Seeing some activity in the first week is normal; a second round after two weeks deals with the new group.
Does Roach Out kill large drain cockroaches?
Roach Out is made mainly for German cockroaches and also controls flies. Large drain cockroaches also need drain covers and outdoor treatment, so call us if they keep entering from drains.
When should I call a professional?
Call if activity continues after two careful rounds, if you live in an apartment block with shared drains, or if you run a restaurant, bakery or food unit. The visit charge is Rs 2,000, refunded or adjusted if you book.
